Gabriel
Gabriel Salazar Vergara was born in 1936, on the 31st January. Vergara is a scholar of Chilean historian. Chile is known for his studies of sociology and the way he interprets movements. Particularly, he was prominent in the student protests of between 2011-12 and the year the 2006. Salazar was raised in an income-constrained family. He pursued a degree in the fields of sociology, history, and philosophy as a student at Universidad de Chile. He was also an assistant for Mario Gongora, a classical historian, and Hector Herrera Cajas, a historian. 1. Salazar used to be associated with the Revolutionary Left Movement until 1973. The military tortured him in Villa Grimaldi during that year. Following his release from a military prison camp in 1976 , he moved into exile in the United Kingdom. He was awarded a scholarship for further study at University of Hull. In 1984, he received the distinction of receiving a PhD from the University of Hull within Economic and Social History. His return to Chile the following year. Salazar was able to make a breakthrough 1985, which is relatively not well-known. Salazar studied peons, as well workers and proletarians. Salazar was one of the founding members of Nueva Historia Social, a history-based movement. Salazar views history as an important tool for political action. Interview: Salazar said that he was a "leftist Critical socio historian" He also disapproved of the phrase "Marxist".
